In Durham NC , there is an attempt to commit mentacide against our people. According to Dr. Bobby E. Wright Mentacide is the deliberate and systematic destruction of a group’s mind with the ultimate objection being the destruction of that group. It is also known as “dumbing down.” This is what is happening in the Bull City and we call it Durham COINTELPRO ( Counter Intelligence Program).
To counter this we must organize a group of Backpack Griots to spread information to our people. In the West African tradition a griot is : a member of a class of traveling poets, musicians, and storytellers who maintain a tradition of oral history in parts of West Africa. We must do the same in Durham by using the information below.
