I invite you to read my latest article in The Indy. I hope it sparks a community conversation that will make us rethink the current policies regarding gang violence and , more importantly, help us deal , honestly, with the current perception of African American men in Durham. I am posing this question to those running for elected office. After we get past the overly simplistic calls to “stop the violence,” or “stop beefin’” what is your vision for the role young African American will play in the Durham of the future?
