(DURHAM) Outraged by the current attacks on Critical Race Theory education and the 1619 Project by conservatives such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a NC minister is comparing the actions to the May 1933 Berlin book burning.

“These Neo Nazi book burners must be stopped,” says Durham NC minister and activist , Paul Scott, founder of the Black Messiah Movement which combines Black Liberation Theology with community activism.

According to Scott, there is an uncivil “woke” war going on in this country and American students are being caught in the crossfire. North Carolina has become a battleground state as even the LT Governor has criticized “ leftest indoctrination.” Some groups have even formed to organize students and parents to report teachers who use what they term a radical curriculum.

Instead of burying history Scott is calling for a Truth Commission to uncover facts about this nation’s past and how it has marginalized certain groups.

“In 2021, our children need educators who are culturally sensitive, not a bunch of classroom Karens running around snitching on teachers, says Scott. “
